Which test bench do I need?

Static Test Bench

This unit is for testing units/items that require being supplied with a flow rate. These units have built-in pump(s), where the flow rate and the pressure can be varied as required.

These test benches are suited for testing cylinders, valves, manifolds, and motors(utilising a back pressure testing procedure). Motors like Staffa and Hägglunds are tested by the relevant factories in this way.

Dynamic Test Bench

For the testing of a unit that requires a driving rotational force to achieve flow from the test unit. This is required for all pumps, open and closed loop.

Under some special conditions and with Axial piston motors, a test can also be performed, where the motor is able to be tested under pump conditions.

Application / Question Static Test Bench Dynamic Test Bench

I want to test hydraulic pumps

I want to test hydraulic cylinders

My unit needs to be driven by a motor to produce flow

I want to test open-loop pumps

I want to test closed-loop pumps

I want to test valves

I want to test manifolds / blocks

I want to test axial piston motors as pumps (special pump conditions)

I want to test motors using a back-pressure method (e.g. Staffa, Hägglunds)

My unit already has a built-in pump, I just need to supply oil

I need to vary flow rate and pressure to simulate operating conditions
